Miniature Gardening. This is a hands-on workshop for all ages in which you will learn how to create and care for your very own miniature garden. Molly Hornbaker Blogg will provide information on how to get started and assist you along the way.  Fee includes your container, soil, and plants.  Annual Open House and Hosta Walk at Hornbaker Gardens, Inc. 22937 1140 North Ave, Princeton, Illinois.  Friday, June 9 from 8-5, Saturday, June 10 from 8-5, Sunday, June 11 from 12-5. This 3-day event offers many items with special pricing including a long list of hostas. There will also be refreshments, door prizes, and the gardens will be looking exceptionally beautiful! We will be firing up our grill to sell sandwiches for lunch on Friday and Saturday.

Gateway 5K Superhero Showdown Sat. June 24  

Come out and be a hero at the Gateway 5k Superhero Showdown! This is a fun (but still timed) 5K run/walk.  Along the course will be  Volunteer Villains who will attempt to chase you down with their squirt phasers.  Not into running?  Be a Villain Volunteer.  Our villains will be stationed along the course with their squirt phasers.  Hero or villain, come out, put on your cape or get your phasers ready, and support individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.   

The Gateway 5K is an awareness run/walk for intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Golf Outing

The Bureau and Lee County Farm Bureaus will host their eighth annual golf outing for supporters of Ag in the Classroom. The outing will be Thursday, June 29, at Chapel Hill Golf Course in Princeton. The tournament will be a shot-gun start, four-person scramble. Tee time is 9 a.m.; lunch (provided by Country Financial) will be served for all teams. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Bureau and Lee County Ag in the Classroom program. Register by June 7
